Grand
River Tackle's
4th Annual Snoopy Contest
November
12, 2006
Larry below is the
2005 Snoopy Steelhead Angler of the Year

If
you think you have what it takes to be the Snoopy Steelhead
Angler of the year, Here is your chance. Many
have tried and few have been successful at landing a steelhead
with this fine fishing tool.
Put a Snoopy rod in your hands and lets see how you do. There is a $20.00 entry fee
and
all proceeds with the exception of the cost of the Snoopy rod are donated to the
'Ken Mantkowski Memorial Handicap Day'.
OCBS every year takes a day off to fish with those who are less
fortunate. They ask for nothing and have maybe the best time of the
lives.
There is a new board started just for the
Grand River Tackle Annual Snoopy Contest. The contest has had
little exposure in the past three years and always conflicted with the
OCBS Fly Tournament. Bruce has change his contest's date to one week
later. So enough said, Ohio's
Steelheaders need to get behind Grand River Tackle and support Snoopy in
record numbers this year. This is a one of the kind contest and a great
event which will help those who are less fortunate.

New Rocky
River Flow meter and Temperature Gauge
The gauges came about
when TU inquired at Erie Outfitters asking owner Craig Lewis if he knew
of any projects the chapter could get involved in. Craig directed
TU to contact Cleveland Metro Parks and that is where
Michael Durkalec, M.S.,
Aquatic Biologist got involved.
Mike queried several organization for donations to make this possible
(click on Credits below). OCBS thanks TU for asking the
right person, Craig Lewis and Mike Durkalec for making it happen. Mike is a
member of OCBS and is also is on the Board and Craig is an OCBS
Member as well as an OCBS Sponsor.

On River Seminar

The
last seminar of the season was held at Helen Wyan-Hazen Park on April 23, 2006.
This young man who's name is Jacob, and his father Wes Felts were at the seminar
when
Casey came accross them on the river shortly before the seminar began.
Casey rigged the young lad's rod with flies and told him were
he should be casting into the pool. Casey went back to the
pavilion and soon saw Jacob walk up from the creek with his
first ever steelhead.

Zack Statler is back and looks
like he has grown. Is this why he seems to be catching larger fish? |
