Grand River Tackle's
4th Annual Snoopy Contest
 November 12, 2006

Michael Quigley  is the 2004 Snoopy Steelhead Angler of the Year.

Come on guys! I'm not impressed at all with the sizes landed in the past few years using my top-of-the-line fishing tools. Your expertise and experience makes me believe you can do much better.  I know you can show me a 27" or better steelhead. I've seen salmon landed with these tools so I know steelhead can be too.   Sincerely Snoopy....

New Rocky River Flow meter and Temperature Gauge
If you have not had a chance to view these new gauges, I suggest you do so now. River gauges are one of the best tools for the steelheader. The Rocky River gauges include a Temperature gauge which you should find helpful.

 Steelheaders News!

October 2006 Westside Membership Meeting

Speaker: Michael Durkalec will give an informative talk about night fishing for steelhead….when/where legal.  There is a whole set of unique tackle and strategy that applies to night fishing for steelhead and it can be VERY effective early or late in the season, in particular.  If done with safety as a priority, night fishing offers a very enjoyable steelheading experience that many local steelheaders have not taken advantage of.

Make a mental note that November's speaker will be Jerry Darkes.

Big Fish Board

Ken Harper caught this 34" male confirmed, 15 - 16 lbs unconfirmed. For those of you who fish the Grand River Big Fish Contest, this one would have been hard to beat. Ken caught this monster one week before the 2006-2007 contest started and it's still swimming guys.  View Photos
