Steelheaders
News!
March 29,
2007 Eastside Membership Meeting
This month's speaker comes from Ohio and needs no introduction to Steelheaders. Come meet and listen to John Rochus proprietor of Ohio Fly
Fishing Excursions. He's talk will be
“Matching the Hatch – A New Approach to Steelhead Flies.”
After spending 60 to 70
days a year for the past nine years on the Lake Erie
steelhead
streams, John has witnessed that the
traditionally-used steelhead flies are not nearly as
effective as they once were. He has been sampling the aquatic
invertebrates that are found in the Erie tributaries and
will share what he has learned about them and some
of the fly patterns to mimic them.

were only six contests that caught
fish due to the high water
conditions. Right is a photo of Rocky River a few days before tournament day.

John Rhoades and Jeff Liskey

A perfect solution
when the rivers are frozen and you need to catch a few
fish to get you through another work week. With your
float tub fish warm water discharges. Open water on the
shore line and frozen lake to the north helps to keep
the rollers small and you safely riding high over the
fish. Jeff is right and John below.
