Tom Krause and Monte Casey (Nov
30, 1007 - Dec 2, 2007)
The Niagara was trashed by high winds on Erie with only a few inches of
visibility and to make things even worse Bert Dam turn off its
water soon after we started fishing. We did manage to caught a big King
in great shape and a few browns. New York fishing was pretty BAD!
So we cut our losses and started back to Ohio.
The next two days we fished Conneaut which was our first taste of winter
steelheading with high winds, freezing rain, snow and iced up rods. We
did not take many pictures because holding a fish was like hanging on to
a block of ice. You
had to be careful as to where you fished because deer season was in full
swing. At our last stop, just before dusk the forest sounded like a war zone.
The gun fire didn't seem to bother the fish though, we managed to
catch-and-release seven steelhead before heading home.
