Fisherman are knowledgeable and updated on fishing regulations and understand them, well most of them. As we all know some regulations are confusing. To clear up any confusion or questions you may have about the regulations you can contact one of the Wild Life Officers, their names are listed above. They are happy to provide you with the correct interpretations and answers to your questions . Our State Wild Life Officers have many responsibilities and the state has one Wild Life Officer for each county. They are not able and can not be everywhere at the same time. They rely on us, the fishermen, to help them out. As sportsman it is our responsibility to report all unlawful acts to the Division of Wild Life. Ohio has a hot line specifically for this purpose, 1-800-POACHER or you can call the Wild live Officer directly. The hot line is not just for reporting poachers, it is for reporting all unlawful wild life acts. All reports are followed through by the Division of Wild Life and many offenders are prosecuted, thanks to the program. Please help, when you see an unlawful act, report it, your call is confidential. When you report an unlawful act, it is helpful to have as much information as possible. The more information you can provide the easier the Wild Life Officer's job will be.
